About the Mi-Ki |
The Mi-Ki strain originated in the 1980's in Milwaukee, WI. The original strain was started using the Shih Tzu, Maltese, Papillon and the Japanese Chin. In 1993 a Papillon/Yorkshire terrier was added to the strain. It is has taken careful breeding to bring out the most desirable traits from all of these breeds to give us the Mi-Ki of today. The Mi-Ki is an intelligent, calm, and affectonate dog. They have been bred to be a loving companion for the young and old. The Mi-Ki has a long, silky, non-shed coat that makes them easy to groom, usually with a a quick brushing twice a week. Generally, the Mi-Ki bark very little. They are adaptable to any situation, easy to train, and exceptional around children and the elderly. Their small size makes them great apartment dogs and they are able to get most of the exercise they require just following you at your heels. The average height is 8-9 inches at the shoulders and their average weight is 5-10 lbs. Making the Mi-Ki the perfect take anywhere dog. But don't be fooled by their small stature, these little guys can keep-up with the most adventurous and still be ready to curl up in a lap for a snuggle. |
